CDRC Deputy Director, Prof Alex Singleton, will be delivering a seminar on Human Dynamics and Urban Structure at the Urban Big Data Centre in Glasgow.
Developing models of urban structure and human dynamics has a long history within geography and planning. In their contemporary form, geodemographic classifications represent complexity as a typology of salient characteristics, drawing measures relating to attributes and behaviours of population alongside urban morphology and context . This seminar will explore a series of advances in geodemographic methods and their application to issues of social concern.
Alex Singleton is a Professor of Geographic Information Science at the University of Liverpool, where he was appointed as a Lecturer in 2010. Previously he held research positions at University College London, where he was also awarded a PhD in 2007. He completed a BSc in Geography at the University of Manchester, graduating with a First-class honours degree in 2003.
